About Us

Our Name

Despite its name, The Empire City Wire isn’t a traditional news wire. However, in its digital-first approach, it channels the same spirit for the 21st century. Instead of feeding headlines to newspapers or dispatches to editors by fax or teletype, The Empire City Wire delivers culture, commentary, and city life straight to readers’ feeds, social media accounts, and email inboxes. These are the places where cutting-edge stories break, evolve, and spread in real time.

Our Content Team

The Empire City Wire’s content team is a sharp, culture-obsessed group of writers, editors, and storytellers who know how to capture New York’s ever-evolving pulse. From underground clubbing scenes to headline-grabbing power plays, they deliver articles with wit, edge, and insight. Whether it's a late-night gallery opening, or a whispered tip from the boardroom, the team turns city buzz into compelling stories that keep readers plugged in and ahead of the curve.

The Force Behind The Empire City Wire

Michael Halebian Sr. was the son of an Armenian immigrant who escaped to America during the genocide, seeking refuge and a new beginning in New York City. A proud World War II veteran, he served with distinction under General George S. Patton and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, one of the war’s most pivotal conflicts. After returning home, he channeled his discipline and determination into building a successful industrial company based in New Jersey. A devoted family man, Halebian became the cornerstone of a sprawling and diverse legacy, deeply rooted in the fabric of the NYC tri-state area. After his passing, members of his family honored that legacy by founding a new company, The Empire City Wire.
